Cycle 1 Round 3 -- Judges' Comments

Lioncourt

bakekong -- Aesthetically speaking your entry is leaps and bounds visually appealing compared to your 2 previous entries. The intensity in your eyes is truly engaging and the lighting made your skin look good. Two comments I have for your photo, though: 1st, what is wrong with your shoulders? it appears to be in some strange contortion (was it cropped out, painted on, or is it just because of the way you posed?). 2nd, you don't look angry at all, it seems as if you're just flaunting that bloody organ at us. *Fierceness overpowered Anger*

br@t -- I understand that this photo is already in your profile and was just edited by your co-contestant, Candyman, nevertheless, I find it effective. The camera loves you and you register well in photographs. Thankfully you had this pic in your profile, lest you wouldn't have an entry for this week. What I see in this photo is that you are merely irritated and not angry. We're still waiting for you to steal the show, we all know you have "it" in you and that you can do it. *Fierceness overpowered Anger*

CANDYMAN -- It pains me to say this, but I'm really disappointed with your entry. It SEEMS as if you didn't put much effort for this. Your facial expression is similar to those of someone trying to scare some random kid away: i n my opinion, that is not anger at all. However I commend you for the dedication you show in this contest and your willingness to extend a helping hand to a competitor who is in need. *Fierceness overpowered Anger*

JUDE -- In this photo it seems to me as if you've been caught redhanded in the middle of a grisly crime. The styling and the lighting are well done. You would've nailed it had you really let yourself loose and gave us real anger. *Fierceness overpowered Anger*

pipo2 -- Wow. This is one helluva photo, pipo! The colors you used matched. And the texture of your photo is breathtaking. The art direction, lighting, make-up, photo-editing (if there was any) are all top-notch. My only problem is that like most of the contestants, you didn't seem angry at all (is that a pout?). If only you looked angrier than this, it would've been a runaway hit. Anyway you are one of the top 2 guys in my list. *Fierceness overpowered Anger (by miles)*

AKI -- Kudos for the understated, no frills photo that successfully delivered the Anger element across. I can really feel your anger towards the Heavens in this photo. Im interested to see a medium-shot version of this image, it could've been more powerful. And you should've had a more disheveled hairstyle for that full "Fallen Angel" effect and maybe, a not so perfect set of wings. You complete my Top 2 guys for this week. *Overall a very effective photo.*

Candyman -- I found your entry competitive at first look basing on your facial expression but as I delved further into your picture, I felt that putting your left hand under your head was such an ill-suited gesture to fully capture this week's theme. You looked more of a model posing for a glamour shot rather than someone who is in anger. Remember that your body should work as one to effectively act-out a certain emotion.

Br@t -- Thanks to whoever edited your pic. I understand that you didn't have any access to a decent camera for this round which prompted you to make use of what you have in you profile pics. I have 3 major concerns with how your pic was edited. First is the HEADSET. This week's theme is Angry and Fierce and I guess the headset was an inappropriate accessory. It gave me an impression that you didn't like what you've been hearing. Second are your fiery EYES. It turned you to a Super Hero/Villain which I think was slightly incongruous with this week's theme too! Lastly is the "Hell has never been this hot" TEXT. What significance did it serve to this week's theme? Br@t, you've been submitting so-so entries the past three rounds!!! Jude, I know you've got what it takes to be G4M-NTM's next top model. You wanna be one of the 3 Finalists? DO SOMETHING!

AKI -- You have dedication and I admire you for that. Kudos to this very competitive entry. I love its simplicity. The components of your picture complemented each other. The facial expression, the hand gesture which matched the facial expression, and the lighted wings that you added which further justified the upsurge of emotions all worked as one. I only have very minimal negative comments about your entry and I guess it won't be really necessary to mention them. Either small or big scale, your entry for this round is picture perfect (at least for me)!

Pipo -- You are one of the most dedicated contestants (if not the most dedicated) for this cycle and I really won't be surprised if I see you as one of the 3 finalists. Thanks to your work as a fashion magazine editor (ba?) which is really working to your advantage. You've been submitting edgy entries and this round is no exemption. The make up was great especially the one you wore on your eyes. It was nicely done. I'm having a lil' problem though with how overly accessorized your entry was. Always remember that "Less is More".

Jude -- You really gave me a hard time for this round. You've changed your pic at the very last minute.Your change of mind was considerable though as it was still within the time alloted for the contestants to submit their entries. My comment is YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE CHANGED YOUR PIC, dear! Though not perfect, the last pic you've submitted was a lotttt better than this one. Your final entry for this round just looked like a "normal" picture taken after a night-out. There was no trace of anger in it except maybe for the lil' make up you've worn on your cheeks. The pic was blurry too. Am so dissapointed..really!

Bakekong -- This round proved to be very challenging for you guys. I love the variety with how you guys interpreted this week's theme. You chose this vampire- ish execution of "Angry and Fierce". Good..but not so good. The way how your eyes communicated to me was very effective but it would have been better if you've tilted your head up so your facial features would be highlighted rather than your hand. By the way, what was it you're holding? Liver?Heart?Human or Animal?hehhehe...

A K I -- You were pretty much the only model who was able to balance being angry and fierce at the same time. While the photo was by no means perfect (I would have like to see the face more up close), you were still able to deliver this week's theme.

bakekong8 -- I don't see anger at all in this photo. Your eyes aren't angry at all. I think you need to work on varying the emotions you're trying to portray in your pics. For me, this is just an extension of your pic from last week's theme. I'm not seeing your range.

br@t -- While I understand the issues you had to go through this week, it would be unfair to the other contestants if we had to give you any special considerations, at least as far as the comments are concerned. You're irritated in the pic, not angry. I'm still waiting for you to wow us.

CANDYMAN -- Yes, you're angry here, but I think the pic is overall too posey. The body angle is awkward given the emotion from your face. You can do better than this.

JUDE -- You shouldn't have changed pics. This is easily the worst pic you've submitted. Your facial expression is blank. I see boredom and not anger. It is fierce though.

pipo2 -- Fierce. Almost too fierce. Your lips wouldn't be pouting if you were really angry. I think if you had angrier lips this would've been the best pic for me.
