Cycle 1 Round 6 -- Polls

Hi G4M-NTM audience! Do you agree with the judges' decision? Do you think that someone else should have been Coverboy of the Week? Should someone else have been eliminated? Let us know what you think!

(Disclaimer: Audience voting is not one of the criteria in the selection of either the Coverboy of the Week or the contestant who will be eliminated. The judges' votes are considered final.)

Cycle 1 Round 6 -- Results

This is the official announcement of results for G4M's Next Top Model Cycle 1 Round 6.

* * * *

Hi contestants! Welcome to the 6th elimination night of G4M's Next Top Model, Cycle 1.

Unbelievable as it may seem, this competition is nearing its end. The next round is the last for this cycle. Next week we will announce the winner of G4M's Next Top Model Cycle 1.

This week your challenge was to submit 2 photos of yourself that best represented our theme for Round 5: "Kanto Boy vs. GQ". We wanted to see how versatile you could be. We wanted to see how rugged you could look versus how refined you could look.

Since this round is the last before the finals, the stakes are high. Some of the judges had a hard time deciding on who deserved to be in the finals. Should they reward past performance, even if the photos this week weren't that good, or should the photos this week count for more than anything else that has been submitted?

All of the remaining models have worked hard to make it this far. The judges are proud of how much effort you've put in to the competition. Sadly, only 2 of you can make it to the finals...

* * * *

In my hand I hold pictures, and these pictures represent the 2 men who will be continuing on the journey towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model.

1 of you will be eliminated...

I will call only 2 names. The first name I will call is the winner of this round -- our Coverboy of the Week.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

JUDE

You are G4M's Next Top Model Cycle 1 Round 6's Coverboy of the Week!

In spite of the sadness you went through this week, you still managed to come up with some great photos. You were definitely able to show that you could be both rough and refined. This is the 3rd straight week that you are our Coverboy of the Week.

Congratulations. You've made it to the finals. You are still in the running towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model.

* * * *

And that means...

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

A K I and br@t, you're both in the bottom 2.

A K I -- Your Kanto Boy photo was amazing. But the judges weren't impressed with your GQ photo at all. Looking at your past photos, we know that you can definitely do better than this. Have you lost the desire to win this competition?

br@t -- Last week you finally produced a photo that wowed the judges. But this week, it seems that you've gone back to the same expression you had in all your other photos. As we've always said, a model needs to show a range of what they can do. Is it too late for you to begin doing that?

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Who will be the finals? Will it be the model who had great photos in previous rounds but fizzled this week? Or will it be the model that hasn't been that impressive in the past but recently has begun catching the judges' attention?

I have 2 men before me... 2 talented men who have so much potential. But I will only call 1 name. The model I do not call must immediately return to his house, pack his things, and leave the competition...

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

br@t

We hope to see the momentum you've built for yourself these past few rounds in the final. This competition is far from over. Now's not the time to slack off.

Congratulations. You've made it to the finals. You are still in the running towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

A K I, that means you've been eliminated.

You did very well to make it to 3rd place in this competition. We hope that you've learned from this experience, and we wish you luck in your future career. Thank you for joining G4M's Next Top Model, Cycle 1.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

And so the competition goes on. The Cycle 1 Finale officially starts now. Please see the new thread "G4Ms Next Top Model Cycle 1 Finals" for details.

Cycle 1 Round 6 -- Judges' Comments

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Lioncourt

A K I -- Kanto Boy: The best kanto boy pic. The facial expression, the pose, the styling are apt. Really effective, but... GQ: A formal attire doesn't guarantee a GQ-worthy photo. Your entry just doesn't work at all. Juxtaposed with GQ, this one's just tacky.

br@t -- Kanto Boy: It would have been ok if you did not cover 1/3 of your face with that bottle. On the brighter side, you gave a very effective portrayal of the "siga" stereotype. GQ: It is a good photo but it still lacks the glimmer of a refined lifestyle. I know you were trying to project a certain emotion but your eyes in the pic appeared to be droopy. The editing of the pic in the shoulder and hair areas is sloppy but overall this one is passable.

JUDE -- Kanto Boy: First, one of your eyes is bigger than the other. Second, the over-all look of the pic is still GQ-esque. Smoking alone wont deliver the Kanto Boy appeal. Good facial expression, though. GQ: This photo shows a perfect example of the GQ Lifestyle. Relaxed and Fashionable. But there's that yellow light again, I am still aching to see you in a different light (literally).

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

TakenBy_eriK

A K I -- Your Kanto-boy pic's tone made it look like an old pic and I'm not really sure if I'm liking it. I wonder how it would look like if you didn't use any effects to it. Your hair worked to your advantage. The background you chose was also appropriate but like the other contestants, you didn't show your whole body with kanto shorts, slippers, etc. which could have given more justice to this week's kanto theme. GQ: You look good in the picture but the entry appeared like a graduation pic to me. It lacked fashion, style and glamor to make it to a Men's Mag Cover.

br@t -- I wonder why all three of you altered the original color settings of your Kanto-boy pics. Your facial expression was fierce which made it more kanto-ish but it was such a shame that the Red Horse bottle was partially covering your handsome face. The way you were holding the beer bottle was a minus, too! It could have looked more astig if you held it by its neck rather than its body. The sleeveless shirt was appropriate for the theme but like the rest of the contestants, I expected you to show your whole body. Yours could have been better if you were sitting on a gutter perhaps? GQ: The angle by which your pic was taken emphasized your high bridged nose (and it was good) but your facial expression made your pic look gloomy. You should have smiled, br@t. You also had an option of facing front, striking a glamor shot to make it edgier but sadly, you didn't. I'm also not liking how your pic was edited which resulted to blurry edges. Your background was empty, too!

JUDE -- Plus points: the cig and how you were holding it, unruly hair, that fierce look, and most importantly, the clarity of the pic. Minus points: the attire that ruined it all! You should have taken that black polo/coat off. You looked more of party animal who have just gotten home rather than a kanto-boy. Like AKI and br@t, you also should have shown your whole body and more of that wall behind you to give your pic a more kanto feel. GQ: You really know how to get good shots. Your hair, that very nice long sleeves and background were excellent but I would have liked it more if the shot was closer because the wall cabinet with those nice vases and clock were too close to overpowering the main focus of the pic which was YOU. Also, this could have been a "perfect" entry, JUDE if the clarity of your Kanto-boy pic was present in this shot. Nevertheless, your entry for this theme is commendable.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

ZephyrInTheS

A K I -- Your Kanto Boy pic is HOT!! You're gorgeous in this photo. The photo makes you look rugged yet sensitive at the same time. A diamond in the rough. The intensity in the look on your face is amazing. Which is more than I can say for your GQ pic. GQ magazine, while focusing on formal or business wear, still has very edgy photos. Your GQ pic lacks any egde at all. I kinda expected more from you.

br@t -- Good GQ photo. My only complaint is that because the angle of your eyes is so low, you look a bit sad. I would liked this pic to be a bit more fierce. As for your Kanto Boy photo, I was expecting you to ace this since your features are very sharp. However, the pic you submitted lacks energy. You have the same blank expression you've showed in most of your other pics. Not to mention the bottle covers most of your face.

JUDE -- I was expecting you to have difficulty with the Kanto Boy theme, since in most of your previous photos you've looked polished, but you aced it. You definitely pulled off looking rugged, and this is the edgiest pic you've submitted so far in the competition. Your GQ photo is fierce too. Your eyes draw us in closer. There's a clear difference between your 2 photos, and you pulled off both of this round's themes.

Cycle 1 Round 5 -- Polls

Hi G4M-NTM audience! Do you agree with the judges' decision? Do you think that someone else should have been Coverboy of the Week? Should someone else have been eliminated? Let us know what you think!

(Disclaimer: Audience voting is not one of the criteria in the selection of either the Coverboy of the Week or the contestant who will be eliminated. The judges' votes are considered final.)

Cycle 1 Round 5 -- Results

This is the official announcement of results for G4M's Next Top Model Cycle 1 Round 5.

* * * *

Hi contestants! Welcome to the 5th elimination night of G4M's Next Top Model, Cycle 1.

The competition just keeps on getting fiercer and fiercer. We are only 2 weeks away from announcing the winner of G4M's Next Top Model Cycle 1. The remaining models need to keep on working it until the end. Now is not the time to be slacking off.

This week your challenge was to submit a photo of yourself that best represented our theme for Round 5: "Disco Glam". Clubbers have always had a reputation for being fashionably trendy. We wanted the models this week to glam it up a bit, since most of our themes so far have been either rough, edgy, or commercial.

The judges were overall happy with results. Some pics were more disco than glam, some were more glam than disco. Some of you got the right balance. With the quality of the entries, it seems a shame that someone still has to go home this week...

* * * *

In my hand I hold 3 pictures, and these pictures represent the 3 men who will be continuing on the journey towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model.

1 of you will be eliminated...

I will call only 3 names. The first name I will call is the winner of this round -- our Coverboy of the Week.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

JUDE

You are G4M's Next Top Model Cycle 1 Round 5's Coverboy of the Week!

For the 2nd week in a row, you've managed to impress the judges with your photos. A good model is able to show a range of what they can do. So far you've been able to do that.

Congratulations. You are still in the running towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model...

* * * *

2 more names...

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

br@t

This was definitely a glammed up photo. A little effort definitely goes a long way. Just make sure though that in future pics you're more aware of your body language. This week it wasn't clear what you were trying to portray.

Congratulations. You are still in the running towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model...

* * * *

And that means...

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

A K I and pipo2, you're both in the bottom 2. This is the first time that either of you have been in the bottom 2.

A K I -- You've consistently been able to come with interesting concepts for your photos. The judges though are worried that you might be spending so much time worrying about the concept, that you forget about the modelling. We'd like to stress that this is, after all, a modelling competition, and not a photography contest.

pipo2 -- Where's the spunk that we saw during Round 2 and Round 3? You've proved before that when you want to, you can create some of the fiercest pics. With last week's photo and the one for this week, the judges are sensing that the fire within you is dying down. At this stage in the competition, is it too late to rekindle that fire?

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

I have 2 men before me... 2 talented men who have so much potential. But I will only call 1 name. The model I do not call must immediately return to his house, pack his things, and leave the competition...

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

A K I

We love the concepts behind your pics. You're very talented. But you need to prove that you're talented at modelling too.

Congratulations. You are still in the running towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

pipo2, that means you've been eliminated.

We hope that you've learned from this experience, and we wish you luck in your future career. Thank you for joining G4M's Next Top Model, Cycle 1.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

And so the competition goes on. Cycle 1 Round 6 officially starts now. This round the theme is "KANTO BOY Vs. GQ". Please see the new thread "G4Ms Next Top Model Cycle 1 Round 6" for details.

Cycle 1 Round 5 -- Judges' Comments

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Lioncourt

A K I -- Concept-wise you're always commendable. Who would've thought you were going to produce 2 shots of you in this round? I commend you for your ideas and your effort. My problem with this pic is that its neither glam nor edgy. It looks wholesome to me, like a print ad for teen's fashion, perhaps?

br@t -- This is definitely a glamorous photo. Your outfit did the job for you. But why are you wearing DARK sunglasses inside a club? You should've chosen something that still shows your eyes. Your pose is stiff, too. Im not sure if you are holding on to something (you know, like those standing MRT commuters) or you are just projecting a certain pose. Another tip, you shouldn't have worn dark pants.

JUDE -- Whoever thought of putting CD on the walls is brazilliant! The colors of the underside of the CD capture the Disco Lights as we know them. The problem with this pic is that those colors I am expecting to see are only visible on one side of the photo. The other half is dead. Nice eye contact with the camera, but what is wrong with your nose? There's too much noseline going on.

pipo2 -- Nice outfit (though Im not sure about those shoes). Your pose seems a bit awkward though, it looked tense, when you should be portraying a guy who is chilling in the VIP Area (Im guessing because of that sofa). The colors you chose for this photo are coordinated, but maybe your socks are a little too overpowering? It steals the attention from your face and body.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

TakenBy_eriK

A K I -- I have mixed emotions toward your entry for this very crucial round, AKI. This round would determine who of the remaining four will advance to the BIG 3. The concept of having two AKIs is unrivaled and I would like to commend you for that. B-R-A-V-O! I'm seeing a lot of spunk but I really am having a major concern with your outfit. It's stylish but it just doesn't conform to the current DISCO fashion.

br@t -- 3 THINGS. The pose, the SUNglasses, and the white cloth around your neck. What's with the pose, br@t? It's unclear to me whether you want to show us that you were dancing or holding on to something above you. SUNglasses during disco? Yes, you look good with it but am so allergic to accessories being worn inappropriately. The white cloth added glam to your outfit but it would have been sexier and better if you've only unbuttoned one button more rather than using that cloth. On the lighter side, I still think your entry for this round is the best you've submitted so far but I know you can do better.

JUDE -- You really have expensive facial features and I know that you're well aware of that. Thank God because you've finally gotten rid of the yellow tone you've been using in all of your past entries. You have your headset on (again) and like I told you, I still prefer the trial pic you've shown us where you were closing your eyes as it looks more coordinated with your hand gesture than this one. The disco ball and the compact discs behind you added vibrancy to the pic. Idea magnifica!

pipo2 -- Like br@t, your entry for this round is the best you've submitted so far. I really am sensing some fierce competition here. I'll give you the Best Dressed Model Award for this round. This pic could have been a better one though if you've sharpened it a bit for your face to be more emphasized. You look good. You're very fashionable. I suggest you use a high-end cam next time should you advance to the finals. Goodluck!

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

ZephyrInTheS

A K I -- I love the concept! Though there's more disco than glam, it's still a good pic. I like that you're able to convey movement, which is apt for the disco theme. I think your facial expressions could have projected more energy though, given how active your poses are.

br@t -- Definitely glam. I like the angles you've created with your body. My main concern though is that your face seems a bit blank. Maybe it's because you covered your eyes with sunglasses. It's as if you were so focused on your posture that you forgot about what your face was expressing. Still, this is an edgy pic.

JUDE -- Great pic. Since the background is so dark, your face just pops out, and your eyes are amazing. I would have liked the body angle to be more clearly defined though. Still, I like how you made an otherwise ordinary outfit look glam.

pipo2 -- I like how laid-back the pic feels. The outfit is glam. I think the body angles are a bit off though. I'm not liking how your right leg is overpowering the rest of your body, and your feet look awkward. The look on your face needs to be more fierce.

Cycle 1 Round 4 -- Results

This is the official announcement of results for G4M's Next Top Model Cycle 1 Round 4.

* * * *

Hi contestants! Welcome to the 4th elimination night of G4M's Next Top Model, Cycle 1.

This week your challenge was to submit a photo of yourself that best represented our theme for Round 4: "Sizzling Summer Days". We wanted you to show us how the summer heat was affecting you.

The idea behind the theme was for the models to come up with a pic that captured the essence of summer. We wanted to see the heat emanate from the photo; we wanted the models to sizzle. At the same time, the mood had to be relaxed. Summertime is all about going with the flow.

Again, this was another week of mixed results. Most of you did have relaxed photos, but so much so that we no longer felt any heat. As a model, the heat has to come from within, and you have to be able to translate that on to the photo. If you can't do that, no amount of photoshopping is going to be able to help you.

* * * *

In my hand I hold 4 pictures, and these pictures represent the 4 men who will be continuing on the journey towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model.

1 of you will be eliminated...

I will call only 4 names. The first name I will call is the winner of this round -- our Coverboy of the Week.

JUDE

You are G4M's Next Top Model Cycle 1 Round 4's Coverboy of the Week!

The judges agreed that this was definitely the hottest pic this round. You were oozing with the sensuality of summer, and you proved that good models don't need photoshop.

Congratulations. You are still in the running towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model...

3 more names...

You worked the summer theme, but you need to be careful not to look like you're having difficulty, even in an action pic. There's a difference between looking tense and looking intense.

Congratulations. You are still in the running towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model...

A K I

The judges weren't too sure about this pic. On one hand, you did manage to show the relaxed nature of summer, but on the other hand the angles in this pic weren't flattering. We all have our flaws, but there's a problem when the angle creates a flaw that isn't really there.

Congratulations. You are still in the running towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model...

And that means...

bakekong8 and br@t, you're both in the bottom 2.

The judges weren't impressed with either of you.

bakekong8 -- The judges aren't seeing any originality in your expressions. Week after week, you have the same angles, the same emotions. To be a Top Model, you need to show a range of what you can do. You can't afford to be stuck with one look, especially when the stakes are high. To top it all off, this photo was over-edited.

br@t -- The potential they saw in you when the competition started just doesn't seem to be there anymore. The judges have given you many chances to prove yourself, and week after week they've been disappointed. They're questioning if it's worth giving you another chance.

I have 2 men before me... 2 talented men who were not able to translate their talent on to their pics. I will only call 1 name. The model I do not call must immediately return to his house, pack his things, and leave the competition...

br@t

You're hanging by a thread. The judges see potential, but you need to prove that you deserve the chances you've been given. Don't take this opportunity for granted.

Congratulations. You are still in the running towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model.

bakekong8, that means you've been eliminated.

We hope that you've learned from this experience, and we wish you luck in your future career. Thank you for joining G4M's Next Top Model, Cycle 1.

Cycle 1 Round 4 -- Judges' Comments

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Lioncourt

A K I -- I didnt like this pic at all. Im not sure if its your tank-top, your pose, the lighting or all of the above that made you look stocky. Remember, you cant just point and shoot, you have to choose the pose that will make your body or face look flattering.

bakekong8 -- Less is definitely more. In addition to the same facial angle that is getting repetitive, you actually looked like a girl in this photo from extensive airbrushing. All the masculine features have been edited out. And why do you have a starfish on your cheek? Is this what people do when it gets too hot?

br@t -- Zeph is right, this is the least Summer-y pic of the batch. It was just one of your pics superimposed on a beach-setting. How is the heat affecting you?

JUDE -- From the lighting, the pose and the intensity, this pic, though not perfect, captured the essence of this week's theme. You chose to show more skin and it worked. It didn't look forced nor done "just to show skin".

pipo2 -- I need not say how mediocre this entry is compared to your previous efforts. This photo had been ok, if it has been brightened a bit, so we can see some glare and some glistening skin. Your face and your body appear tense in this pic, it's as if you were having some difficulty posing. And the Micromatic logo is distracting. Should've gotten rid of it.

TakenBy_eriK

A K I -- I love the bright colors of your pic. You really know how to come up with a good entry but I'm kind of disturbed with the way your "buntot" was hanging on your left shoulder. You could hate me for this it's (a more handsome version of) April Boy "Idol" Regino am seeing in your pic!!!!!! Arrggghhh I'm badddddd : (

bakekong8 -- Thanks for trying your best to be able to submit an entry for this round despite your very busy schedule. I appreciate the summer-y feel of your entry but the pic was overly done to the extent that it already looked cartoon-ish. And what is the starfish doing on your cheek?

br@t -- I STILL don't see you using your potential to the fullest, br@t. The entries you've been submitting the past three rounds ONLY had you pretty face in it. The theme for this week is Sizzling Summer and I once thought that this round would be the best time for you to show some skin just like Jude did. People fondly refer you as The Sexy Back and you could have used it to your advantage for this week.

JUDE -- You're such a hottie, Jude! Your entry could have been on top of my list if you chose the beach as your background/setting just like the other guys did. I'd still stick to what I have advised you earlier that since you chose your room as the setting of your pictorial, you should've gotten rid of those shades. A bit inappropriate for me. You chose to be different and I'm giving you an A for that!

pipo2 -- This pic simple yet the most summer-y of all the entries. Your pose and facial expression were a lil' uptight but you still managed to look good on this one. This entry could have been perfect for me if you've brightened it a bit.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

ZephyrInTheS

A K I -- This is a good pic, although it doesn't really pop out and grab me. You're relaxed, and the mood is very appropriate for the summer theme. My only problem with this pic is that the angle makes it seem like you're pudgy. The tummy area seems wider than your chest area, making you look fat even if you really aren't.

bakekong8 -- I don't see any variation between your expression in this pic and the expression you had in the pics from the last 2 rounds. Unless you begin showing us a range of what you're capable of, I'm having difficulty seeing you actually winning this whole thing. Also, I think this pic was over-edited. It doesn't seem authentic.

br@t -- This photo just doesn't sizzle for me. Week after week, I've had the same comment. I still don't see you using potential. Like bakekong8, I haven't been able to see your range. And despite the background, this is the least summery pic out of the group, for me at least.

JUDE -- Hot hot hot! I love this pic! I love the edginess of your face, and even though you're wearing sunglasses I can still make out the intensity in your eyes. The body angle is good too. The sensuality of summer is apparent in this pic.

pipo2 -- This is the most summery of all the pics, but you don't seem comfortable in it. Your face is too tensed up. The body angle isn't that flattering either, and your tummy is over-emphasized. The attitude we saw in the last 2 rounds is missing here.
