This is the official announcement of results for G4M's Next Top Model Cycle 1 Round 1.
In fashion, one day you're in, and the next day you're out...
(Ay, sorry... wrong reality show. Sa Project Runway pala yun. Start tayo ulit... Ahem!)
Hi contestants! Welcome to the 1st elimination night of G4M's Next Top Model, Cycle 1.
This has been an emotional week for everyone. In a bid to get the competition started, many things were rushed. The competition started even when the rules hadn't been completely decided on. People were frustrated because they wanted to join the competition as either contestants or judges, but couldn't because the sign-up period for Cycle 1 had already closed. Some of you contestants who did make the cut didn't know exactly what to do, and how could you, when frankly neither did some of the judges?
None of that matters now. What matters now is that in my hand I hold 8 pictures, and these pictures represent the 8 men who will be continuing on the journey towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model.
1 of you will be eliminated...
This week your challenge was to submit a photo of yourself that best represented our theme for Round 1: "SPORTS".
When the first few pictures were submitted, some of the judges felt that most of the pics were not related to the theme at all. We began to think: Did we choose the right men for this competition? Are any of the models we chose really deserving enough to be called the 1st winner of G4M's Next Top Model? Honestly, we still don't know the answer to those questions...
The fashion industry, most especially the Guys4Men fashion industry, is brutal and merciless. The competition is savage. To survive, you need to make sure you can catch everyone's attention the second you walk into the spotlight. You've got to be strong, you've got to be bold, you've got to be FIERCE!
Models don't have the luxury of being able to take their own sweet time. From the moment you step in front of that camera, you've got to W-O-R-K it! You've got to bring - it - on! Cuz if you don't, someone will always be there, ready to take the spotlight away from you...
The model we are looking for to win this whole competition is the man who naturally owns the spotlight. We chose the "Sports" theme to help us find which model is active enough and has the energy needed to stay in the spotlight, all while being able to take fabulous and flawless pictures. To varying degrees, 8 of you showed potential. 1 of you did not.
Before we call on the model who will continue on in the hopes of becoming G4M's Next Top Model, the judges would like to pay tribute to one of our contestants.

You were one of the cutest guys in the competition, and we saw lots of potential. We're sorry you had to leave the competition early. We know that this must be a difficult time for you and your family, and our prayers are with you. We're truly sorry for your loss...

And now we must proceed with the elimination.

The judges thought that although it was not perfect, out of all of the pictures that were submitted this round, this was the most high fashion. We appreciated the effort you put in to coming up a picture for this week's theme.
Remember: don't be complacent. Winning this round does not mean that you've won the entire competition. You could just as easily be eliminated next round, if you don't bring the same energy in your picture next week as you did in this week.

Although not all the judges were convinced that you adhered to this round's theme, none of them could deny that this was a good picture. You had a good body angle, and your best facial features were highlighted.

This was a good picture, but you need to focus on highlighting your facial features just as much as your body. Also, don't forget, there's a fine line between modeling and pornography, and you almost crossed that line.

Not an outstanding photo, but good enough for this round. You need to begin working it. You can't afford to have everyone else in the spotlight while you're standing in their shadows.

None of the judges were particularly impressed with the photo you submitted. Your pose was fine, the pic matched the theme, but in your pic the other model you were with was more fierce. You too need to begin working it.

Definitely the most controversial pic, and the most pornographic. If you want to do well in this competition, the judges definitely agree that you need to start taking this more seriously. You show lots of potential, but potential can only take you so far.

The judges weren't impressed with either of your photos. Neither photo adheres to this week's theme. The judges see potential in both of you, but what they don't see is the dedication, the drive, and the ambition needed to win this competition.

The same number of judges voted for you to be eliminated. After a second round of voting, the judges still couldn't decide on who to keep. Both of you had the potential, but neither of you used it.
